The Genetic Rights Foundation carries out research in the fields of agriculture, environment, and social and economic sectors. In so doing it aims to increase the awareness of citizens in terms of specialist aspects of biotechnology research and development and to transfer know-how for process and product innovation in the agro-food chain. Such research may also prove useful to develop platforms and models to manage biotechnological innovation.
In the pursuit of its objectives the Foundation works with a number of internal researchers as well as with an interdisciplinary and independent network of local and international researchers and research centres.

aAgro-biotechnology observatory

Scientific analysis of marketing authorisation applications for new OGM products submitted by companies operating in European Union members states.

aPSx2 – Participatory science and Scientific participation

A project financed by the Research Directorate-General of the European Commission and carried out by a network of scientists and associations from seven European countries. The aim of the project is to encourage public participation in scientific research.

A project aimed at creating animal breeding chains that are free of transgenic organisms, with information and research work to build a supply plan of non-GM raw materials.

aTraceability of Transgenic organisms in the Agro-food sector

Software for the traceability of products derived from GMOs, which addresses the question, “may the product I intend to import or check/analyse contain GMOs (whether accidentally or not)?”. It is intended for operators of the agro-food chain and research and control institutions.
